Wedding at The West Mill Derby

Further to my recent meeting with Laura to discuss her wedding at The West Mill Derby the day finally arrived! What an amazing venue and a fantastic day. Laura and Oscar’s priority was for a relaxed wedding at The West Mill, complete with gin bar and Host the Roast, not forgetting the string quartet whose music just filled the mill. It was a great party atmosphere in an amazing setting.

A few images from the day, followed by some words from Laura and Oscar.

Wedding Theme/Style/Colours: I was dreading this question as we didn’t have a theme in mind really, we have such an amazing wedding venue we just wanted simple but classic flowers and small touches to compliment it. We just really, really wanted a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere more than anything.

Unique Details: Oscar’s Dad wrote and read his own reading at the ceremony it was amazing! As we chose a no corkage venue we got to really go to town and have all our favorite drinks. So we had a gin bar and named different gin choices after us, mini bottles of prosecco with straws. We went to Italy with my parents and chose all the Prosecco and some of our red wine, we had such a fabulous time choosing all of it! We also did a host a roast for our wedding breakfast which we did as a surprise and had personalized aprons made for each host, and Oscar stood up in between the starter and main course and called them all up individually – everyone loved it!
