Prestwold Wedding

You have captured all those little moments that made our wedding the happiest day of our lives.

A relaxed and fun-filled day capturing the Prestwold wedding of Julie and Andy recently. Julie got ready just down the road at her parents house and so it was just a short drive to the beautiful St Andrew’s church at Prestwold Hall followed by a walk up to the reception to the hall. Its always an absolute pleasure to capture a Prestwold wedding and this day was as good as I was hoping. Here are a few images from Julie and Andy’s fantastic day, followed by their Prestwold wedding day in their words.

Andy and I met at Northampton Saints rugby club  (Andy always jokes that I was playing fly half at the time… ha ha!) Andy proposed on the top deck of a Norwegian cruise ship ‘The M.S. Midnatsol’. It was our first voyage to discover the Northern Lights. Unbelievably the sky was dancing with Northern Lights on St Valentines day, 2012, when Andy proposed.
I wore an ivory ‘Venus Bridal’ gown from A Brides World, Northampton. ‘It was the first dress I tried on and it was love at first sight’. Andy wore a charcoal grey suit, a jacket with tails and an ivory waistcoat with detail in pink and violet. The bride, maid of honour and bridesmaids all had their hair done by Natalie Donohue from The Hairbook, Northampton and make-up was by Ali Passey from Jasmine Hair and Beauty, Wellingborough. Both came to the brides mums house VERY early on the day of the wedding and worked their magic!
The beautiful flowers at both the church and hall were created by ‘Flowers by Philippa’ from Seagrave. The colours for the wedding were based around the dusky rose colour of the bridesmaids dresses with pinks and lilacs also being used. Unique details included the wedding cake with a topper depicting Andy fishing and Julie reading a book on the river bank (in between tea making duties!) The cake sat on top.of a tower of 90 handcrafted wedding cake biscuits. All designed and made by Helen Alborn. Also a unique detail was the gift of dinosaurs given to Andy and Julie, during the church service, from the Reverend Elizabeth York. These tied in with the reading  ‘A lovely Love Story’ by Edward Monkton. The first dance was Paul Martyn’s fantastic rendition of ‘ Have I told you lately’ by Van Morrison.
Most memorable moment for.the bride…
Getting married at St Andrews Church in the grounds of Prestwold Hall-which enabled us to stroll to our reception was just wonderful. Also the firework display by 1st Galaxy – with the finale set to AC/DC- ‘For those about to rock’. Absolutely US!
Most memorable moment for the groom…
Everything. The best day ever. It was amazing!
Honeymoon was at ‘Sandyballs’ (Yes, really!) in The New Forest. Julie even got to swim in the sea, the weather was so good!
Wedding advice: Go with what your heart tells you. You only live once.
You would almost have thought that Sarah was one of the guests as she mingled so effortlessly at our wedding. I’m still not sure how she managed to be everywhere and take such beautifully natural photographs. Not only was she so organised and professional, she was also just as happy helping with ties, getting a drink for the bride and engaging the littlest of our guests! We can’t thank you enough Sarah. We have been looking at the proofs before choosing prints for our album. It really is so emotional. You have captured all those little moments that made our wedding the happiest day of our lives.
